Aaron McGruderEddie Mae Johnson-Trawick, was born on February 17, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of Eddie and Nadine Johnson. She was the second oldest of eight children, and preceded in death by parents, older brother Walter "Shot" Daniels, sister, Jessie Johnson, and one granddaughter Tasha Trawick.
In 1957, Eddie Mae gave birth to her first child, Mildred. Freddie Mae and Shirley were born soon before meeting her future husband. She married Steve Trawick, Jr. on April 22, 1962 at just 19 years of age. To their union was born, two daughters, Cheryl, Phyllis, and one son, Jeff. In 1968 they moved their still expanding blended family to Chicago, Illinois, where they welcomed the youngest to this union, Peggy Ann. To many she was "Momma," "Grandma," and "Aunt."
Eddie Mae retired at the age of 62 from KBG Security after more than ten years of service.
In 2007 she became an active member at Fullness of Joy Life Giving Church, under the leadership of Apostle Tony McNeal.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband- Steve Trawick, one brother- Johnnie Johnson, sisters-Willie Mae Daniels, Viola Bell, Mamie Daniels, Carrie Passmore-Childs, Doris Daniels, and Diane Newsome; four aunts- Odessa Davis, Callie Pinkins, Dorothy Tyson, and Ruth Neal; seven children, two step-children, thirty-one grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
